Haley Smith

Haley Smith is a 25 year old mountain bike professional who races for the Canadian National Team and Norco Factory Team. Haley was born and raised in Uxbridge, Ontario, fittingly the “Trail Capital of Canada”. She followed her passion for movement and sport to Queen’s University where she earned a degree in Kinesiology while continuing to progress in the sport of mountain bike. Haley has had an impressive cycling career thus far with a National Championship title, a Commonwealth Games Bronze medal, and a breakthrough ride at the 2018 MTB World Championships with 6th place. Off the bike, Haley is an active member of the Canadian Cycling community, sitting on the Cycling Canada Athlete's Council and is an inspiration to young women pursuing sport. Haley is a powerful voice in Canadian sport for mental health awareness, having suffered from anorexia nervosa and anxiety, and openly sharing her journey to positive mental health. Haley is working tirelessly towards earning a spot at the 2020 Olympic Games in Tokyo, and is excited for the opportunity to pursue this dream. No matter where this sport takes her she will be enjoying the journey along the way and taking in every moment with gratitude.
