2024

Dear Friends,

On behalf of The McFarlane Family Foundation, I want to thank you for your generous contribution in supporting The McFarlane Family Foundation Team for the Jack Ride 2024. Because of you, Jack.org is empowering thousands of young people across Canada to improve mental health outcomes in their communities.

The McFarlane Family Foundation Team of 18 team members raised in excess of $45,500 with 143 individual donations – this is truly amazing! Your generosity helped us exceed our team’s expectations, which helped the Jack Ride surpass its fundraising goal of $1.5 million for youth mental health.

Ride day, Saturday, May 25th, at the Caledon Ski Club was cold and wet! Some of us rode at Caledon and others at their locations, but we all rode “Our Ride, Our Way!”, as seen in the photos below.

Thank you for your support in helping the Jack.org community pave the way for greater mental health education and support.

Fondly,

Patti

Our Year in Review

January 2025

Dear Friends,
As we reflect on the past year, the McFarlane family wants to express our deepest gratitude for your continued support and generosity to the McFarlane Family Foundation. With your help, we have made significant strides in deepening our commitment to others and our goal of enabling others to achieve. Last year, your donations allowed us to make a positive impact on our pillars of health and education. Here is where your generosity touched lives with Jack.org, Collingwood General Marine & Hospital Foundation, and Events for Life Centre Inc.

HEALTH

Jack.org

Jack.org is Canada’s only charity that trains and empowers young leaders to revolutionize mental health. Since its inception, the McFarlane Family Foundation has proudly supported Jack.org by providing funding for their specialized programs and events that enable young Canadians to advocate for positive mental health.

After 15 impactful years of partnership, we want to celebrate the journey we have shared with Jack.org as our valued beneficiary. The McFarlane Family Foundation has contributed over $300,000 in support, helping them flourish from a local-led effort into a nation-wide charity. McFarlane family members and friends have also participated in the annual Jack Ride – Canada’s Ride for Youth Mental Health as the McFarlane Family Foundation Team since the event began in 2010, having raised a combined total of almost $450,000.

As we conclude this chapter, we wish Jack.org continued success as they advocate for youth mental health and strive to create safer, more supportive communities for our young Canadians. Members of the McFarlane family remain committed to supporting Jack.org through their annual Jack Ride event, a long-time family tradition.

Collingwood General & Marine Hospital Foundation

Donations to the Collingwood General & Marine Hospital Foundation help bring outstanding care to the communities of South Georgian Bay, to ensure healthcare teams can continue to implement innovative programs and technology to deliver uncompromised care for every patient.

In 2024, we directed our donation to the hospital’s fundraising campaign for two new mammography units. These units will enable women in our community to have access to the best breast cancer screening and care.

EDUCATION

Events for Life Centre Inc.

The McFarlane Family Foundation has been a proud supporter of Events for Life Centre Inc. since their grassroots beginnings in 2013. Our donations support their mission, which is to enrich the lives of individuals with special needs by providing educational, social, and recreational, day programs geared towards lifelong learning. They support individuals with special needs so they may live, learn, and work in an integrated, inclusive community.

LOOKING AHEAD

Since its inception in 2008, the McFarlane Family Foundation has donated over $875,000 in the areas of health, education, amateur sport, and the arts. For 2025, we are excited to introduce our newest beneficiaries:

  • Dyslexia Canada, the only registered national charity committed to ensuring that every child in Canada with dyslexia gets a fair and equitable education. We are directing our 2025 funding to their Right to Read campaign.
  • Alpine Canada athletes Britt Richardson, Cassidy Gray, and Valérie Grenier.
  • Jörgen Dance, making high-quality professional dance more accessible to underserved, underrepresented, and remote communities across Canada. Our funds for 2025 will help create their new production of A Midsummer’s Night Dream.

With your continued support, we continue to enable others to achieve and turn impossibilities into possibilities. Together, we are making a difference.

The McFarlane family thanks you for your generosity and wishes you a bright and hopeful 2025.

Warmest regards,

The McFarlane Family Foundation

Thank you to Harvest Stomp Participants, Sponsors, Donors, and Volunteers,

We were all so pleased that you were able to participate in our tenth McFarlane Family Foundation event at Ceilidh Farm in Clarksburg. We sincerely hope that you enjoyed your evening while supporting great causes: Events for Life, Jack. Org and The Canadian Olympic Foundation.

Our silent auction was a huge success, raising the most money to date in support of our charities!

A very special thank you to Monica & Jim Wilkinson, who opened up their beautiful home to us. Also, we would like to extend our thanks to McEwan Foods, and Jennifer Anderson and Sean Kelly from Black Angus Fine Meats, the food was absolutely delicious!

A big thank you to the band The Little White Lies who helped make the evening memorable. We will have to work on our line dancing! Thank you also to: Arlene Dickinson Enterprises, Collingwood Breweries, and Georgian Hills Vineyards who provided us with the beverages and Jeff MacInnis, of Winthinking.org.

It was very special to have with us our guest speakers: Eric Windeler, the Founder of Jack.org and his youth speakers, Mike Hutchings (Farmer Mike) for Events for Life, and Lauren Adams from The Canadian Olympic Foundation. Their talks were very informative and inspiring, thank you!

Please take a moment to watch this YouTube for EFL, it is a very moving testament to them.
Many thanks for such an amazing evening! We can’t thank you enough for your support.
