Trevor Jones, a Burleigh Falls Ontario native, has won back to back gold medals in the men's single sculls at the World Rowing U23 Championships in both 2018 (Poznan, Poland) and 2017 (Plovdiv, Bulgaria). In 2016, he finished fifth in the double at the U23s in Amsterdam. Trevor now trains full time at the National Training Centre on Elk Lake in Victoria, BC that allows for on-water training throughout the winter. Trevor tried rowing one summer when in high school at the Peterborough Rowing Club when someone recommended it because of his height (203cm) and he really liked it.

Trevor Jones is halfway through his degree at Trent University in Ontario, but since moving to the Centre he takes online courses. Going to school is a nice break as it adds a different aspect and change of pace to life and gives something else to do between training. Trevor is working hard to get faster and qualify a boat for the 2020 Olympics. Trevor’s long term goal is to see how long he can compete at the highest level.
